Valkyrie
While reading an article about Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries, I tried to remember the first time I'd heard the music, and what led me to like it so much. It suddenly all came back: it was the background tune to a video game I used to be playing on the family computer, to my Dad's great frustration, as I was clogging up its 30MB of hard drive space with so many of them. The Valkyries was the background tune for Accolade's Gunboat game, which came out in 1991. Geekily, I found out it can be played online too!

Yes!
The Russian restaurant where I had my New Year brunch had a great parody of the famous Soviet propaganda poster encouraging citizens to stop drinking vodka.
And the aftermath of the celebrations, under watchful eyes.
