31/12/2004: "Full Steam Into 2005"
Welcome to 2005! A year ago, I was sipping Russian tea at home in Geneva, closing 2003 very simply. This year, I am with my English family in Bristol, celebrating New Year in a full house, with dozens of people and so many crates of drinks.
A year ago, this blog had only started days before, with the inspiration from Max Munton's, which is now closed. I had also been motivated to create something as hip and funky as James Darling's (Abscond.org), which I had found by looking at Liv's blog on the Guardian Awards (kindly hosted by James). James's blog is still just as hip, while mine never matched his hipness (I have only nice pictures). Next year, I expect to write about more adventurous things, because there'll be more of that around.
2004 was a partial success. I graduated with good results (but missed by personal objective by less than 1%, a big frustration). I started in a job and did come a tiny bit closer to identifying something I enjoy and am passionate about. I met so many interesting and nice people this year. But but but... I want more!
2005 will be bigger: more money, more freedom, more friends, more travel, more action and adventure and more passion in all I do... 2004 was grey and cold, 2005 will be red and hot!
I wish you all much happiness for 2005 - and a good health still, because it's important.
Phil
